As a part of the new LU Card project, the Library will phase out all the physical Alumni Library Cards which will be replaced by Virtual Alumni LU Cards.

Details on the arrangements including temporary suspension of new applications, renewal and refund for deposit are as follows.  

Existing Alumni Card Holders (Date of Issue on / after 1 June 2022)

For existing Alumni card holders, if the expiry date printed on your (physical) Alumni card is 31 Dec 2022, while the Date of Issue printed on your card is on / after 1 June 2022, you can still use the physical card to access the Library until the successful activation of your new virtual card by end Jan 2023 tentatively. You will be informed about the details in due course of applying for and activating your new Virtual Alumni LU Card as well as returning your physical card to enjoy the same Library privileges entitled in your annual membership. This card replacement (physical to virtual) will not incur any additional cost.

Existing Alumni Card Holders (Date of Issue before 1 June 2022)

Your Library privileges will end on 31 Dec 2022. You have to apply for a new Virtual Alumni LU Card in due course to continue to use Library services.

New / Renewal Applications of Alumni Card Suspended

Applications of physical Alumni Library Card has been suspended immediately until the launch of the Virtual Alumni LU Card as announced by the Office of Institutional Advancement and Public Affairs (OIAPA). Refund for Deposit

As stated in the Terms and Conditions of the Alumni Card application, all fees paid are non-refundable except the deposit $500. If you find it no longer necessary to use the Library services, you can register for the refund by submitting the online form to the Library at https://www.library.ln.edu.hk/en/use/member/refund.
