Due to licensing restrictions, most Library e-resources are available to Lingnan staff and students only. In addition to access the e-resources using campus computers, you can also remote access to the e-resources easily by the following ways:
- Access Library E-resources with Lingnan Account
- Access Library E-resources via Lingnan University VPN
- Access Library E-resources via Bookmarklet
You may refer to the Troubleshooting Guide in case you encountered other access problems in accessing Library's e-resources.
Please be reminded that if your Library account is blocked or has fines reaching HK$30, your Library's privileges will be suspended, including physical access and use of E-resources, until the suspension period is ended or the fines are settled via the Library Online Payment System (login required) / with Octopus Card at Service Counter.
Access Library E-resources with Lingnan Account
Most of the Library e-resources can be accessed anywhere, anytime, with no configuration on your device or browser needed. You will be prompted for your Username and Password of your Lingnan account.

Access Library E-resources via Lingnan University VPN
For access to some particular resources (e.g.: Local TV Programmes, WisersOne), connecting to Lingnan University VPN is needed. Please refer to the VPN Connection webpage provided by ITSC for more details.

For assistance, please send an email to library@ln.edu.hk.
Access Library E-resources via Bookmarklet
When accessing the full text of some resources from the vendor/publisher site directly, you may be asked to pay or log in. Besides starting a new search again in 1-Search, you may install a bookmarklet in your browser.
After the bookmarklet is installed, when you are asked to pay or log in on the vendor/publisher site, you may click the bookmarklet to prompt a Lingnan University login page. If the content is covered under Library's subscription, you can access the content for free directly after successful login with your Lingnan Username and Password. On the other hand, if the content is not subscribed by the Library, you may make use of the HKALL and Partners Service to request the material.
To install the bookmarklet, simply drag and drop this button
to the bookmark bar of your browser (e.g. Google Chrome/Firefox). In some cases, you may need to enable JavaScript and the bookmark bar in your browser to get access to the function.
