Objective
At the end of the activity, students will be able to:
- Develop an interest in community arts and oral history theatre;
- Know the skills of collecting personal stories and script-writing techniques of oral history play; and
- Deal with the potential challenges in producing community theatre programmes.
Description:
Partnered with LU's Wong Bing Lai Music and Performing Arts Unit, Chung Ying Theatre presents this lecture on oral history theatre, one of its signature community projects in which participants re-enact their life stories on stage after receiving drama training. Through their stories, audience will be able to understand the local history and be enlightened by their spirits. The theatre director will share his experience in producing oral history theatre, challenges he encountered and insights on promoting community arts programmes.
