Organized by the Stiftung Buchkunst, the 2017 edition of the "Best Book Design from Germany" competition is completed. Two teams of blue-ribbon juries shortlisted 25 books out of 730 entries after a strenuous selection process. There are five categories in the competition, namely general literature, academic publications, textbooks and non-fictions; guidebooks; art books, photobooks and exhibition catalogues; and children’s books. Five books were selected for each category.

The shortlisted books display a high standard in terms of design, concept and workmanship. They represent the high caliber of Germany’s publication industry. They act as an indicator and set the trend for the industry.
