About the Speaker:

Lik Hang TSUI (徐力恆) holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He is currently writing a book on Song Chinese epistolary culture, based on award-winning research recognized by the International Convention of Asia Scholars. He was a Postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University with the China Biographical Database (CBDB) and a lecturer in Chinese Studies at the University of Oxford. He had also been a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Peking University, and Academia Sinica. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. Since 2015 he has organized and delivered more than 50 workshops, conferences, and talks on digital humanities.

His research interests include middle period China, history of communication, literati culture and urban history of China, and digital humanities. Having published numerous articles and reviews in both English and Chinese in these areas, he is the co-founder and co-editor of 01Lab (a WeChat public account on digital humanities) as well as a reviews editor at Cultural History.
