From Hong Kong's political, historical and economical contexts as departure, an investigation in film music, cultural interactions of Mandarin, Shanghainese and Cantonese in films, the rising of mainland China cinema and professional national music. A fundamental question will finally be examined, 'Does Hong Kong style exist?'
