1950s can be considered as a period of the rising and flourishing stage of the Cantonese opera movies. Hung-neung and Chau-heung are two witty maids who act as violators repudiating the rigidity of master-maid relationship in the feudal society. Incongruity is used as a mean to bring out laughter and make the films successful comedies welcomed by audience of the age.
